The date was 20th of September, and was the last of the Deanery Masses in the CMAK Ngong Diocese calendar for year 2025.

The Venue was the relatively new Parish of St Monica, Kware, which was carved out of St Mary's Parish Ongata Rongai in 2019.

The occasion, luckily, was presided over by His Lordship, the Bishop of Ngong  Diocese, Rt Rev, John Oballa Owaa.

The Parish is probably the only one, at least in the urban areas, whose main church is built with corrugated iron with only one stone wall.

In his homily, the Bishop brought to the participants attention that it was the day was dedicated to celebrating the birth of the Catholic Church Korea which was the only catholic congregation in the world to be started by lay people.
It was started in 1984 and many (103) were persecuted for following the Christian doctrine in a country where any religion had been outlawed. They were asked to sacrifice to the local gods but refused and did what Paul asked Timothy to do, that is a o keep the faith even when there was persecution.
From the days Gospel reading of the sower (Lk 4: 8-15), the Bishop noted that the devil listens to the word carefully in order to castigate us and use all means to prevent one from reaching the only favorable outcome of bearing fruit. His (the devil's) main focus is to cast doubt in ones faith. A lot of the times our minds and hearts are elsewhere when the word is being preached. This is all the devils work.

He asked men to ask themselves what spiritual benefits they were taking home when one goes to their small christian community meetings, where we are supposed to share how the word has spoken to you personally. The Bishop urged all to go for retreats and confession in order to improve the soil of our hearts and minds. " This is where he fills us with His grace to face challenges of the day", ,he said.

He urged us all to be good students showing by our actions, patience and kindness, all the time what kind of soil we are.
In his message to men the Diocesan Chairman, Mr John Muchai, urged members to encourage those who hat had not renewed their membership to do so to allow the membership to reach two thousand by next year in the Deanery from seven hundred and fifty currently.

The Diocesan Coordinator congratulated the chior and brought to the attention of the congregants that this was the first Deanery Mass  to have an all men choir. He also, however, noted that the PMC Liturgical dancers, lacked even one boy.

The Diocesan Prisons Chaplain, Fr Selembo who was also in attendance, asked men to pray and support programs that were helping rehabilitate men who had been imprisoned

The Diocesan Chaplain urged men to encourage those catholic men who were in their neighborhood and were not  participating with others to join in to pray and  commune with other men in order to build a better society.
